History of T10 LED Instrument Light
In the early…
Those who have bought LED instrument lights are sure to be familiar with the words “round” and “flat”.
“Round” refers to the shape above the LED bulb, which is a semicircle.
“Flat” refers to the shape above the LED bulb. It is the semicircle but cut in half and the upper area is flat. See figure 1 below.

Figure 1 (left:round / right:flat)
Recently…
People developed flat LED chips, which had greatly improved brightness and durability.
At the beginning, the design go with “single-sided lighting”, but for the backlit dashboard, it will become the brightness limit in a single block, which cause that it cannot light up every corner of your dashboard; thus, people design “five-sided lighting”.
• “Single-sided lighting” is installed directly above the LED bulb, only a single surface is illuminated, and the illumination is limited.
• “Five-sided lighting” LED bulbs use five-sided lighting to increase brightness and wider lighting angle. You can check on the Figure 2.

History of T5 LED Instrument Light
T5, compare to T10, is much simpler of the developing history. Mainly divided into “Single-sided lighting” and “Five-sided lighting”
• “Single-sided lighting”, directly installed above the bulb, only one side of the light is illuminated, and the illumination is limited.
• “Five-sided lighting” , Bulbs uses five-sided lighting in order to increase brightness and wider angle of brightness area. In fact, the history of T5 is same as late evolution of T10. We got to solve the problem that the illuminate breadth is not enough, resulting in multi-faceted illumination.
As you can see on Figure 3.

The single-sided lighting of T5 is also very bright and has a smaller illumination area. Most of them will be used on the indicator light that do not require a large area lighting.
